Dr. Norma Perez:
Dr. Norma Perez is a licensed clinical psychologist with over 20 years of experience. She obtained her PhD at the University of Rhode Island and completed her Clinical Fellowship at Brown University. She has had a private practice in Lakeway for nearly 7 years and provides individual and couples psychotherapy, as well as psychological assessments.
When working with her clients, she looks at the big picture. She looks at why they sought her out, but then also assesses other aspects of their life, such as their social and family life, their health issues, and their functional abilities. She believes that when one area of a person’s life is off balance, it is most likely affecting the other areas of their life. She strives to help her clients improve their overall quality of life, not just the presenting issues.
Dr. Perez works with older adults in her office, on-line, by phone, and in their homes. She helps adults and their adult children navigate the challenging changes in their relationship.
On a personal note, she is married to a wonderful husband of forty years, has two beautiful daughters and two handsome sons-in-law, who combined have given her three handsome grandsons. She enjoys gardening, hiking, and spending time at the beach.
Lakeway Mayor Sandy Cox:
Sandy Cox is the Mayor for the City of Lakeway. She was elected in 2018. In a short amount of time, Sandy has rebuilt the pipeline of volunteers to better represent the current Lakeway demographics. She has also opened up and enhanced the communication with area residents, empowered committees and commissions to be the voice of the community, and completed work that led to a revamp of the 20-year Comprehensive Plan.
Sandy believes deeply in giving back to the community through volunteerism and board service. She has had the honor to serve with these local charities and boards:
· Lake Travis Youth Association
· Lake Travis KARDIVAS (Social Media & Cyber Bullying Guest Speaker 2011 – Present)
· TexARTS
· Lake Travis ISD Bond Advisory Committee
· Lake Travis ISD 2011 Bond Political Action Committee
· Lakeway Visitors Commission
· SafePlace Board of Directors
· Lake Travis Education Foundation
· Lakeway City Council Member
· Clean Air Coalition Committee Member
· Capital Area Council of Governments - CAPCOG Member
· Capital Area Economic Development District Member
Sandy has been a resident of Lakeway for more than 20 years. She and her husband raised their daughter, Reilly, in Lakeway and still reside in the same home they built in 1999. Sandy holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in both Electrical Engineering and Computer Engineering from Georgia Tech. Prior to retiring from the technology industry in 2009, she successfully led worldwide technology businesses, operations, and supply chains for 21 years at Motorola and Freescale.
As empty nesters, Jay and Sandy enjoy boating on Lake Travis, exploring the outdoors and attending artistic events.
Dr. Mary Katherine “Katie” Theoktisto, Internal Medicine at Baylor Scott & White Health:
Dr. Theoktisto enjoys getting to know her patients. By taking the time to educate them on a particular disease process, she helps them achieve their health goals. Her passion for infectious disease and public health means she’s always looking to help her community heal.
In her free time, Dr. Theoktisto likes rowing, working out, hiking, reading, cooking, and traveling. She loves exploring new places and spending time with her family and friends.

Before working at the library, Karen worked at the University of Texas at Austin administrative mainframe system and has lived in Austin for twenty years.
Deepak Suthar, OsteoStrong:
After going to over 15 Tony Robbins events, I finally understood what the next chapter was going to be about – Contribution. In November of 2017, I happened to walk by a booth at an event that had some pretty high tech equipment and I stopped by to check it out. They were telling me how it was designed to naturally improve bone density and reverse Osteoporosis. I immediately pictured my mom and thought, wow she should really use this! Then they started talking about the other benefits of Osteogenic Loading, like helping eliminate Fibromyalgia, reduce and eliminate Chronic Joint and Back pain, and also reverse Type II Diabetes. In my head, I’m thinking about my mom and saying check, check, check – I HAVE to get my mom to an OsteoStrong center. There wasn’t one in Austin, and that’s when it all fell into place, the universe had put this in my path at perfectly the right time – 6 months later I had resigned my 20+ year career in Technology and Operations and opened my first OsteoStrong. www.osteostrongatx.com
